Ed is the founder and former Director of ECCI and has led the innovation and international activities since its inception in 2010. He is also Dean, Edinburgh of China’s first Low Carbon College in partnership with Shanghai JiaoTong and is being expanded as a model of sustainable knowledge exchange into other global regions.
Ed’s focus at ECCI is enabling innovation through targeted idea generation to support key ‘problem owners’ such as cities and corporates and accelerating/scaling sharable business models through partnership nationally and globally. He has particular interest in waste/circular economy, city/rural development and data-driven innovation. He has successfully led dozens of innovation projects involving hundreds academics, public agencies and businesses in every key market sector and across 5 continents.
