Keith McDonald is Assistant Director of Research and Innovation at the Scottish Funding Council (SFC), where he is responsible for promoting and incentivising effective partnerships and collaboration between Scottish academic institutions, industry and other partners.
This includes driving SFC’s priority investments in the University Innovation Fund (UIF) and – in partnership with Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and Scottish Government – Scotland’s Innovation Centre programme, as part of SFC’s strategy to invest in excellent research and innovation that adds to current knowledge and delivers economic and societal value. Keith also works closely with stakeholders across Scotland and the UK, representing SFC on the Scotland CAN DO Business Innovation Forum and formal liaison with UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
