Professor Paul Chapman is GSA’s Director of Emerging Technology providing an in-depth knowledge of technology and computer science across the institution in order to maximise GSA’s digital potential in academic, research and commercial areas.
Previously Paul was Head of the School of Simulation and Visualisation (SimVis) at GSA, Director of the Hull Immersive Visualisation Centre and headed the Simulation and Visualisation Research Group in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Hull. Prior to Hull, Paul spent several years working as an offshore engineer in the oil, gas and diamond mining industries. He holds BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Science, he is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered IT Professional, Fellow of the British Computer Society and was an inaugural member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh’s Young Academy.
