Stephen Fitzpatrick is an accomplished leader with 25+ years of experience in academia and industry. As Director of the Digital Factory at NMIS, he drives sustainable value retention through digital transformation. With 16 years in the manufacturing industry, 9 years in academia, an MSc in Material Science and an MBA from Strathclyde, Stephen combines technical expertise and strategic acumen. His expertise has been recognised by his appointment as a Fellow of IMechE, further validating his contributions to the field.
He led the £20 million Additive Manufacturing and Machining Group, heads the NMIS Remanufacturing Strategic Research Programme, and is Principal Investigator on numerous R&D and commercial projects, including a £4.5 million project for the UK’s Innovation Accelerators. Stephen’s visionary leadership shapes industrial impact and innovation.
